Now that the date to register to vote has passed, it is time to work on a plan to vote.

There are three ways that you can vote.

  1. You can vote on election day, November 5, 2024.
  2. You can vote early, during the early voting period.
  3. You can request a vote-by-mail ballot.

Registered voters have until October 24th to request a vote-by-mail ballot. If you have a disability and live in Florida, you can request an accessible vote-by-mail ballot. You can request a vote-by-mail ballot through your local Supervisors of Elections Office.

The ballot will be long so you should prepare before you vote.

There are several ways to prepare.

  • You can read the official sample ballot for your area.
  • You can go online and research the candidates and amendments.

Most candidates will have a website that will list the issues that they support.

For the amendments, you can go online and research what each amendment is about. We have also summarized each amendment for you.

If going online and researching everything by yourself sounds overwhelming, don’t worry. There are several organizations that have researched the issues and can summarize the facts for you.

One good website is vote411. This website was created by The League of Women Voters. The website will help you check your registration and give you personalized voting information. You can see what’s on your ballot, find your polling place, and much more.

All you have to do is put in your street address and click submit. The website will give you a list of all the races in your area.

The website also has a drop box finder. The drop boxes are used for you to drop off your absentee ballot, if you don’t want to mail it back.
