The Wallet Card Project Update 2024
By: Deborah Dietz
We’re excited to announce the launch of our newly updated web page for The Wallet Card Project!
Our site now makes it easier for everyone, including individuals with disabilities, caregivers, law enforcement, teachers, and community organizations, to access the tools and resources they need to promote safe interactions.
What is The Wallet Card Project?
The Wallet Card Project is an initiative designed to improve communication during interactions between individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and law enforcement.
What We Offer:
The Wallet Card: A communication tool for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or ASD that helps law enforcement understand their needs during an interaction.
The Caregiver Wallet Card: A tool for caregivers to effectively communicate the needs of the person they care for.
Training for Law Enforcement: Online training, manuals, and tips sheets to support law enforcement in understanding how to interact with individuals with disabilities.
Community and School Programming: Educational resources and sessions for teachers, community groups, and organizations to promote successful law enforcement interactions.
Whether you’re a caregiver, teacher, community organization, or part of law enforcement, visit our newly updated Wallet Card Project page for more information on how to access these resources and apply for a wallet card. Explore the updates today!
